Cool New Music: Nuttin’ But Stringz
Jan 14th
Ever heard of R&B Violin? Check out Nuttin’ But Stringz. Around a year or two ago, Jay Leno had two gents on his show that, I think, are going to either be a huge success, or a sad flop. It’ll come down to the fickle tastes of the American listening public. I’m impressed with the sound, but I think some people won’t quite know what to think of it, since many like to categorize things into existing genres, and these guys don’t quite fit into any single bin. Since I like groups like Blue Man Group, Afro Celt Sound System, Zero 7, and other groups broadly categorized as “World Music,” you can tell I tend to like music that’s a little more off the beaten path.
Check out a video of the Leno appearance. You can also purchase one of their tracks on iTunes and Napster.
I’m impressed, and I may actually go out and buy a physical CD when their album comes out. Take a look, and spread the word…
